Hello from the |
"Caught You Caring"
"Caught You Caring" from anti-bullying week is now here to stay! Many of you suggested that we have "Caught You Caring" on-going! This is a great way to promote a caring community within OTLC.
Here is what staff need to do:
Staff are to nominate any students who they see doing something 'caring'
for another student. It could be the little things that we see such as:
holding the door for another student or witnessing conflict resolution between
students. There will be a reminder every second Wednesday morning for you
to nominate students.
Here is what happens next:
The names will go into a draw. The winner will receive a free lunch courtesy
of Mrs. Armstrong. The draw will take place the following Friday morning
over the PA system.
This will start up next Wednesday, January 20.
So staff, keep your eyes and ears open!
Thanks
Anti-Bullying Committee
Anti-bullying week was November 16th to the 20th.
The events and activities were as follows:
During assembly on Monday, two senior students announced the breakdown of activities and introduced a quick slide show showing our new anti-bullying posters that were purchased. They are up around the school. Take a look!
During the Week: Announcements on the PA system (facts, poems) by students. Selling of bracelets during lunch time at $1.00 each. Whoever purchased a bracelet signed a petition agreeing that they are part of the solution. The names will go in the display case in the front foyer after that week for our students to see.

We are asking that staff fill out a ballot (set up in the main office) when they see students showing "Caught you Caring" for another student. The draw was announced Monday morning. Prize is a $25.00 gift certificate for St. Laurent Mall.
